Induced transparency: interference or polarization? [PDF]
The polarization of optical fields is a crucial degree of freedom in the all-optical analogue of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). However, the physical origins of EIT and polarization induced phenomena have not been well distinguished ...

Induced Polarization of Carbonates [PDF]
International audienceComplex conductivity measurements of carbonate rocks are scarce despite the occurrence of these rocks at the surface of the Earth. The complex conductivity spectra of 57 carbonate samples were measured in a broad frequency range and

Quantum‐rotor‐induced polarization [PDF]
Quantum‐rotor‐induced polarization is closely related to para‐hydrogen‐induced polarization. In both cases, the hyperpolarized spin order derives from rotational interaction and the Pauli principle by which the symmetry of the rotational ground state dictates the symmetry of the associated nuclear spin state.

An experiment of spectral induced polarization
A Spectral Induced Polarization (SIP) survey was carried out in a mining test site in Sardinia (Italy). Measurements were developed along a profile by using an axial dipole-dipole array with 10 AB positions and 6 MN positions for cach AB.

Dynamically Induced Multiferroic Polarization
We describe a mechanism by which both a ferroelectric polarization and a magnetization can be created in nonpolar, nonmagnetic materials. Using a combination of phenomenological modeling and first-principles calculations, we demonstrate that ...

Chiral phonon induced spin polarization
The current understanding of chirality suggests the existence of a connection between structure and angular momentum, including spin. This is particularly emphasized in the chiral induced spin selectivity effect, where chiral structures act as spin ...

Characterization of Induced Polarization Parameters from Electromagnetic Data using Evolutionary Approach [PDF]
Electromagnetic methods are one of the most important tools for exploring the physical properties of scatterers. When the scattering object is polarizable, more information can be gained from electromagnetic measurements to determine the scatterer’s ...

The role of geophysics in enhancing mine planning decision-making in small-scale mining [PDF]
Small-scale mining usually operates under high geological uncertainty conditions. This turns mine planning into a complex and sometimes inaccurate task, resulting in low productivity and substantial variability in the quantity and quality of the mineral ...

TRADE‐INDUCED SKILL POLARIZATION [PDF]
We study how wage gaps across skills and the skill distribution in an economy respond to trade integration. Using administrative data of Denmark (1995–2011), we find that trade has a negative effect on the wage gap between secondary and primary education and a positive effect on the wage gap between tertiary and secondary education.
