Resistivity and Induced Polarization

2020
Resistivity and induced polarization methods are used for a wide range of near-surface applications, including hydrogeology, civil engineering and archaeology, as well as emerging applications in the agricultural and plant sciences. This comprehensive reference text covers both theory and practice of resistivity and induced polarization methods ...

Polarization-induced electron populations

Applied Physics Letters, 2000
Electron populations induced by spontaneous and piezoelectric polarization in semiconductor heterostructures can be estimated simply by using elementary electrostatic theory. The method is illustrated for the AlGaN/GaN system in which the AlGaN barrier is either undoped, or doped n type, and the effect of a GaN overlayer is described.

Discussion-Induced Attitude Polarization

Human Relations, 1975
Two experiments examined the group polarization hypothesis. In Experiment I group discussion polarized the evaluations of six hypothetical faculty members, three described positively and three negatively. 'Good' faculty were rated and paid even more favorably after group interaction and contrariwise for 'bad' faculty.

Induced Polarization in Rocks

1971
Phenomena bearing on the passage of direct current through a rock as a multi-phase medium may be divided into two categories, depending upon the time duration of their appearance. The first category includes processes involved in the rapid change in current from one constant level to another (see Fig. 55).

The induced polarization receiver

1980
The induced polarization receiver capable of detecting the intermodulation coupling products caused by the electrically nonlinear ground employing adaptive filters is designed and constructed. The sum of two sine waves is transmitted to the ground. The first adaptive notch filter rejects the received signal at the transmitted frequencies. The second
