Rhizobacteria-mediated induced systemic resistance in Arabidopsis

open access: yes, 2001
Selected strains of rhizosphere bacteria have been shown to reduce disease by activating a resistance mechanism in the plant called rhizobacteria-mediated induced systemic resistance (ISR). ISR resembles pathogen-induced systemic acquired resistance (SAR), in that both types of induced resistance render uninfected plant parts more resistant towards a ...

Design and Synthesis of Peptide‐Polyester Conjugates for Cell‐Mediated Scaffold Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work describes polycaprolactone (PCL)‐based biomaterials engineered to degrade in response to cell‐secreted proteases. A fast‐degrading peptide (Fast) sequence is integrated into a PCL conjugate backbone to produce a biomaterial that is selectively degraded by multiple cell types compared to its scrambled control (ScrFast).

Signaling during rhizobacteria-induced systemic resistance in Arabidopsis

open access: yes, 2004
Arabidopsis plants of which the roots are colonized by specific strains of non-pathogenic fluorescent Pseudomonas bacteria develop an induced systemic resistance (ISR) that, unlike pathogen- induced systemic acquired resistance (SAR), is independent of

Biology and management of freesia flower specking caused by Botrytis cinerea [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
There is no published research regarding postharvest infection of freesia flowers by Botrytis cinerea. Although, infection problems have concerned freesia growers and wholesalers in recent years.

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

One‐Step Microfluidic Manufactured Fucose‐Decorated Sweetosomes Choose the Time and the Road for Their Intracellular Journey to Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Sweetosomes, a new class of fucose‐decorated liposomes, are developed via a one‐step microfluidic process without surface chemistry. This study elucidates their main caveolae‐mediated entry and distinct endosomal trafficking. These nanostructures demonstrate superior endosomal escape, organelle acidity modulation, and prolonged plasma persistence ...

Identification and transcriptional analysis of genes involved in Bacillus cereus-induced systemic resistance in Lilium

open access: yes, 2010
Bacillus cereus C1L was demonstrated to induce systemic resistance in Lilium formosanum against leaf blight caused by Botrytis elliptica. Suppression subtractive hybridization library of L. formosanum triggered by B.
