Integration of OpenCV‐Based Microscopic Adhesive Volume Measurement Into a Pyiron Workflow for Automated Data Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Residual adhesive after electrode loading in adhesive‐assisted resistance spot welding is quantified through a traceable experimental‐to‐digital workflow. Chromatic confocal topography provides calibrated surface‐height data, while OpenCV detects the electrode imprint and integrates adhesive height into comparable volume metrics.

THYRISTOR RESONANT DEVICES WITH MUTUAL INDUCTANCE

open access: yes, 1992
The aim of the work is to make the class of the electric energy converters providing the electromagnetic compatibility with network and load, on base of the discrete resonant devices with mutual inductance and to investigate the electromagnetic processes

Comparing multiple simulators using Bayesian emulators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Bayesian emulation has proved to be a useful tool for working with complicated, high dimensional simulators, approximating the simulator's behaviour in a probabilistic way, enabling operations such as prediction or calibration, and therefore providing an

Uniform Amorphization of Crystalline Silicon Surfaces Enabled by Deep Ultraviolet Femtosecond Laser Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Deep‐UV (258 nm) femtosecond pulses enable uniform amorphous silicon writing on Si(100)/(111) with a six‐fold larger fluence amorphization window than NIR methods. Optimized fluence and overlap yield 20–45 nm uniform and continuous amorphous layers. Microscopy shows sharp interfaces, and real‐time reflectivity reveals nanosecond melt–resolidification ...

A Leakage-Inductance-Based ZVS Two-Inductor Boost Converter with Integrated Magnetics

open access: yes, 2005
A two-inductor boost converter topology has conduction loss and transformer utilization advantages in converting low-voltage higher current inputs to high output voltages.

Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

Large Tunable Kinetic Inductance in a Twisted Graphene Superconductor

open access: yes
Twisted graphene based moiré heterostructures host a flat band at the magic angles where the kinetic energy of the charge carriers is quenched and interaction effects dominate.

Architecture‐Driven Sensor Stability in Weft‐Knitted Engineering Textiles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Textile‐integrated sensor architectures are systematically compared to evaluate their electromechanical behavior under combined mechanical and environmental loading. Pocket‐based integration exhibits stable and reproducible signals, whereas tunnel‐based routing shows higher sensitivity accompanied by increased variability.
