Computer simulation of induction hardening

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2004
The computer simulation of electromagnetic, thermodynamic and microstructural transformations in treated work-piece is usually recommended for the exact definition of working parameters in process planning of the induction hardening processes. A special simulation program has been developed for the axially symmetric work-pieces.

INDUCTION-HARDENED GEARS

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1950
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">INDUCTION heating, the authors show, has been successfully applied to the hardening of many types of gears. Over a million transmission gears have been produced with its aid and thousands of induction-hardened final-drive gears and pinions are giving satisfactory field service ...

Analysis of Induction Hardened Cylinders

Heat Treating Conference, 2023
Abstract Induction hardening is used to harden small cylinders of SAE 1074 steel. Parts were quenched with a high concentration of a polyalkylene glycol (PAG) type quenchant. Soft spots were found on a small percentage of the parts. These soft spots were consistently at one location about 2/3 from the bottom of the part. These soft spots
