The Heating of Induction Motors
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1909The object of this paper is to show the limitations imposed on the designer of induction motors by the heating of the machine, and also to show how this heating may be predetermined.

Induction heating of vessels The conventional wrap-around induction heating technique and the travelling wave induction heating technique have been compared as a means of heating mild steel vessels. Two small-scale units have been designed and constructed which may be useful as demonstration units for lecturers teaching electrical engineering ...

Induction heating offers a method for heating of electrical conductors such as steel, brass, graphite, by exposing them to a varying magnetic field. The application of induction heating to melting, forging, surface hardening, and other uses is becoming increasingly common, resulting in a mounting interest for a physical concept of the heating effect ...

In this chapter, the principle of induction heating sintering and the features of the microstructure development of induction sintered materials are presented. Direct induction heating can only be realized in conductive materials and is caused by eddy currents created by an alternating magnetic field.

Principles of Induction Heating
2014AbstractInduction heating is a combination of several interrelated physical phenomena, including heat transfer, electromagnetics, and metallurgy. This article presents a brief review of different heat transfer modes, namely, heat conduction, thermal radiation, and convection.

Induction heating at low temperatures
Electrical Engineering, 1935Inductively heating iron parts for drying coatings discloses interesting features which may be applied to other low temperature processes. The electrical design of the oven and circuits for induction heating at low temperatures are considered in this paper.

Induction and dielectric heating [PDF]
The success of dielectric and induction heating in wartime production indicates their continued successful use in peacetime industry for many applications which ordinary heating processes have not accomplished. Though the methods of heat generation are vastly different, both types of heating are based on disturbance of the molecular structure.

Experimental Induction Heating Hypophysectomy
Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, 1973The use of implanted metal seeds to induce hypophysectomy using induction heating was studied in vitro and in experimental animals. The preliminary observations indicate that this technique is not satisfactory for bringing about total hypophysectomy at primary operation but may be useful in permitting secondary lesions in the ...

The rest of this book is devoted to a presentation of mathematical modelling and numerical solution of some well known applications of low frequency electromagnetics (eddy current and magnetostatics) in industry. For each application, we present the set of equations that govern the process, give some mathematical results when they are known and present
