Cageless induction machine

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1971
A novel type of a.c. machine is described which has an asynchronous mode of operation but which does not rely on induced currents or losses in the rotor. It has a polyphase stator winding and a laminated rotor with `directional' magnetic properties, and thus closely resembles a reluctance motor.

Multifunctional induction machine

2016 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE), 2016
An induction or asynchronous motor is an AC electric motor in which the electric current in the rotor is needed to produce torque is induced by electromagnetic induction from the magnetic field of the stator winding. The induction machine is used in a wide variety of applications as a means of converting electric power to mechanical work. It is without

Induction Machines Handbook

2020
Induction Machines Handbook: Steady State Modeling and Performance offers a thorough treatment of steady-state induction machines (IM), the most used electric motor (generator) in rather constant or variable speed drives, forever lower energy consumption and higher productivity in basically all industries, from home appliances, through robotics to e ...

Induction machine rapid performance tests

2017 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2017
This paper proposes a novel technique that can significantly reduce the time required for induction machines full-load performance test by using the direct dynamometer tests of IEEE Std 112-B. The proposed technique needs only 30-min of a machine run under the full-load condition.

Efficiency tests of induction machines

Electrical Engineering, 1934
Several different types of tests For the efficiency of induction machines are discussed in this paper, and results obtained by the different methods are compared. The procedure involved in making the different types of tests is given in detail. In the determination of losses, special attention is given to the stray load loss, which, in most previous ...

The Induction Machine

2018
Nowadays, the induction machine is by far the most commonly used electrical machine in electrical drives (for applications that require a highly dynamic behaviour or where energy efficiency or compactness is primordial the permanent magnet synchronous motor may be preferred, however).

Induction Machine Modelling

2018
The chapter deals with the modelling of the induction machine (IM). Following the analysis of the principle of operation which is based on the induction phenomenon, the a-b-c model is established assuming a sinusoidal spatial repartition of the air gap flux density, a linear magnetic circuit, and constant phase resistors. The a-b-c model makes possible

Power Losses in Induction Machines

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1934
Losses in induction machines have been subjected to a detailed study by many investigators, but due to the complex nature of some of these losses, particularly several forms of load loss in induction motors, a clear understanding of their nature, has not been available.
