Induction Machine Control for a Wide Range of Drive Requirements

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
In this paper, a method for induction machine (IM) torque/speed tracking control derived from the 3-D non-holonomic integrator including drift terms is proposed.

Vectorial formalism for analysis and design of polyphase synchronous machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A vectorial formalism for analysis and design of polyphase synchronous machines without reluctance and saturation effects is described. We prove the equivalence of such a machine with a set of magnetically independent machines, which are electrically and

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Harmonic effects on induction and line start permanent magnet machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Power Electronics (PE) are implemented in a wide variety of appliances, either to increase its controllability or energy efficiency, or simply because a DC supply is needed.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Nonlinear Algebraic Parameter Estimation of Doubly Fed Induction Machine Based on Rotor Current Falling Curves

open access: yesEnergies
Currently, wind turbines utilize doubly fed induction machines that incorporate a frequency converter in the rotor circuit to manage slip energy. This setup ensures a stable voltage amplitude and frequency that align with the alternating current.

Fast Method for the Iron Losses Prediction in Inverter Fed Induction Motors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper an easy method for the iron loss prediction in PWM inverter fed induction motors is presented. The method was initially proposed and validated for the prediction of the iron losses in non-oriented soft magnetic material with PWM supply ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Numerical Modeling, Electrical Characteristics Analysis and Experimental Validation of Severe Inter-Turn Short Circuit Fault Conditions on Stator Winding in DFIG of Wind Turbines

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Inter-turn short circuit fault (ITSCF) can be a great threat for the safety and effectiveness of the generator. In this paper, a simulation model with the experimental platform is established to diagnose the ITSCF in stator windings.

Direct torque control for dual three-phase induction motor drives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A direct torque control (DTC) strategy for dual three-phase induction motor drives is discussed in this paper. The induction machine has two sets of stator three-phase windings spatially shifted by 30 electrical degrees.
