An Induction Motor Analyser

International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education, 1976
An analyser which provides performance characteristics of a 3-phase induction motor from its equivalent circuit is described. The resistances and inductances in the circuit are replaced respectively by capacitances and resistances in a circuit analogue. This circuit analogue is particularly economical for highly inductive, e.g. power networks.

Troubleshooting induction motors

Conference Record of the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Fifth IAS Annual Meeting and World Conference on Industrial Applications of Electrical Energy (Cat. No.00CH37129), 2002
The keys to successful motor operation include a total understanding of the application, then choosing the proper type of motor for the application. This must then be followed by the proper installation-mounting, coupling, and a total understanding of the motor surroundings or environment.

Induction Motor Drives

2009
This chapter explores the use of induction machines in variable speed drive systems by using several control strategies. First, voltshperhhertz control, is designed to accommodate variablehspeed commands by using the inverter to apply a voltage of correct magnitude and frequency so as to approximately achieve the commanded speed without the use of ...

Induction motor drives

2015
With more than 85% of electrical motors, induction motors (IMs) dominate the market for electrical motors and consume more than 60% of total industrial electricity across the globe [1]. Their extensive use is a result of their strong low-cost design along with their reliability and cheap maintenance.

The Advanced Induction Motor

IEEE Power Engineering Society Summer Meeting,, 2003
The ALSTOM Advanced Induction Motor has evolved over a period of around 15 years, during which time function and performance have steadily improved. In the electric warship, compactness of the propulsion motor is important, but so also must be reliability, structureborne noise signature, and shock withstand ability.

Linear Induction Motors

1972
In the early years of the 20th century, when rotating electrical machines had become established and made to perform satisfactorily, it was realised that these machines could be made in a different form which would use or produce motion in a straight line, instead of the normal rotary motion.
