Sub‐Nanometer Cobalt on Tungsten Titanium Carbide MXene (W2TiC2Tx): An Electrocatalyst for Highly Efficient and Stable Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution at Industrial‐Scale Current Density

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A novel W2TiC2Tx MXene prepared through a MAX‐phase route supports sub‐nanometer Co for highly efficient alkaline hydrogen evolution. Strong Co–W interfacial interactions optimize hydrogen adsorption and catalytic activity, enabling low overpotentials of 63 mV at 10 mA cm−2, small Tafel slope of 44.3 mV dec−1, and exceptional durability at industrially

Congestion management for urban EV charging systems

open access: yes
We consider the problem of managing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging at charging points in a city to ensure that the load on the charging points remains within the desired limits while minimizing the inconvenience to EV owners.

Engineering Metal‐Pocket Cooperativity in Single‐Atom COF Nanozymes for Selective Cascade Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A multilevel programming strategy is developed to engineer single‐atom COF nanozymes with tunable metal centers and chiral pockets inspired by heme–pocket cooperativity. This approach enables controlled metal–pocket interplay for asymmetric cascade catalysis, delivering high activity, selectivity, and recyclability in an asymmetric oxidation–aldol ...

Investigation of inductive coupling solutions for E-bike wireless charging

open access: yes, 2015
Wireless charging of electric vehicle batteries is a major topic for academic and industrial research. The wireless charging is based on the inductive coupling between a primary coil, connected to the grid, and a secondary coil, connected to the vehicle ...

A Hybrid Compensation Topology for Battery Charging System Based on IPT Technology

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Based on the double-sided LCC (DLCC) compensation topology circuit, a battery charging method is proposed to meet various charging requirements. Firstly, mathematical model was obtained by modeling primary and secondary sides of DLCC.

Deterministic Field‐Free Switching of Perpendicular Magnetization by Bulk Mirror Symmetry Broken Bi1−xSbx (012) with High Spin Hall Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Crystal orientation and domain engineering enable bulk mirror symmetry breaking in Bi1−xSbx, resulting in ultralow current‐induced switching of perpendicular magnetization without an external field. By exploiting single‐domain Bi1−xSbx (012), the authors demonstrate an out‐of‐plane spin Hall conductivity of ∼1.12×105ℏ2eΩ−1m−1$ \sim \!1.12 \ensuremath ...

Design of a universal inductive charging system for electric vehicles

open access: yes, 2016
A promising method for charging batteries of electric vehicles (EV) is inductive power transfer (IPT), also known as inductive charging. IPT, a convenient, safe, and aesthetic method of charging EVs, inductively transfers high-frequency AC power in the ...

Side‐Chain‐Induced Interlayer Slipping in Metalloporphyrin COFs Enables Microenvironment and Spin‐State Regulation for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Alkoxy chain length drives a continuous transition from eclipsed AA to a serrated, slipped AA* configuration over Co‐porphyrin COFs. A moderate slip both contracts the pore channel to enrich CO2 and suppress hydrogen evolution, and enhances collective high‐spin of Co sites, which delivers a record CO production rate with high selectivity.

Hierarchical Flexible Ceramic Nanofiber Membrane for Simultaneous Membrane Distillation and Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical flexible ceramic nanofiber membrane integrates a La‐stabilized ZrO2 scaffold with superhydrophobic UiO‐66‐NH2/CdS heterojunctions. The gas–liquid–solid interfacial architecture sustains vapor‐selective desalination, visible‐light charge separation, and rapid H2 extraction, enabling simultaneous freshwater production and photocatalytic ...

Older People’s Attitudes to Road Charging: Are They Distinctive and What are the Implications for Policy? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In an ageing society older people have a growing influence on politics in general, and potentially on the acceptability of road charging in particular. They face specific types of risk of transport-related social exclusion which may influence their views
