Making Solomonoff Induction Effective

2012
The notion of effective learnability is analyzed by relating it to the proof-theoretic strength of an axiom system which is used to derive totality proofs for recursive functions. The main result, the generator-predictor theorem, states that an infinite sequence of bits is learnable if the axiom system proves the totality of a recursive function which ...

Electrostatic effect induction formulae

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1975
The calculation of induced voltages and short-circuit currents on people is an important step for the determination of tolerable levels of the electrostatic fields of UHV power transmission lines. Formulae for the induced short-circuit current of a hemisphere and a half-cylinder on the ground are derived in this paper.

On-board effective inductance measurement

Asia-Pacific Conference on Circuits and Systems, 2003
A simple technique for effective spiral inductance measurement with nano henry sensitivity is presented. This on-board technique is based upon a differential test pattern design. Only a DC voltmeter and a current meter are needed for its measurement.

Edge effects in induction problems

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1974
The conditions under which unbounded fields can exist at the edges of a ponderable body are examined. Following Meixner's approach, it is shown that for a nonpermeable finite-conductivity body, such singularities do not exist.

Ovulation Induction: Adverse Effects

2014
Ovulation induction therapy is administered to stimulate follicular growth and induce ovulation in anovulatory infertile women. A variety of fertility medications are available for ovulation induction. The most commonly prescribed ovulation drugs are clomiphene citrate, FSH, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), human menopausal gonadotropin (Hmg ...

Cancer induction and non-stochastic effects

The British Journal of Radiology, 1987
The mechanisms of carcinogenesis are not known in detail, but there is strong evidence that cancer usually arises from a single transformed cell. Hence, although the process of carcinogenesis appears to require a multiplicity of changes in the affected cancer-forming cell, such as may be associated with successive stages of tumour initiation, tumour ...

Inductive effects on crosstalk evaluation

Proceedings of the IEEE 2001 International Interconnect Technology Conference (Cat. No.01EX461), 2001
Coupling noise between adjacent interconnect lines has become more significant in deep submicron technologies. From an electromagnetic analysis, this coupling noise is determined with respect to the different parameters and a comparison is made between distributed RC and RLC models to represent the interconnection.

Induction of a Stereoscopic Depth Effect

Science, 1964
Two pairs of horizontal lines of equal length, with different configurations of dots above and below, are presented stereoscopically. Upon fusion, the two lines are perceived as tilting in space in directions opposite to the depth effects of the dots.

Heating effects through unipolar induction

Journal of the Franklin Institute, 1985
Abstract Energy conversion through unipolar induction is investigated; mechanical energy is directly transformed into heat and the underlying conversion process is analyzed here with the aid of two inertial frames of reference, one attached to the permanent magnet and the other to the moving, induced body.
