Production of MgO/TiC Composites From MgO‐C Recyclates Using Spark Plasma Sintering
Using the spark plasma sintering technique, MgO/TiC composites are manufactured from recycled MgO‐C refractories stemming from the steel production that were mixed with titanium powder. This article shows, how the size of the Ti grains and their distribution in the powder mixture affect the local carbon concentration in TiC.

Induction of DNA-Protein Cross-Links by Platinum Compounds
Abstract The differences between cis- and trans-diamminedichloroplatinum II (DDP) in forming DNA-protein cross-links in isolated human lymphocytes were investigated. Both cis- and trans-DDP can induce DNA-protein cross-links. We show that cis-DDP forms complexes between DNA and proteins faster than trans-DDP.

Biotelemetric Wireless Intracranial Pressure Monitoring: An In Vitro Study
Assessment of intracranial pressure (ICP) is of great importance in management of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). The existing clinically established ICP measurement methods require catheter insertion in the cranial cavity.

Prediction of PWM-Induced Current Ripple in Subdivided Stator Windings Using Admittance Analysis
Subdividing stator winding is a way to lower the DC link voltage value in electric drives and reduce the stress on motor insulation. Coupled windings sharing the same stator teeth are modelled in order to evaluate the link between voltages disparities ...

Miniaturized Resonant Power Conversion for Implanted Medical Devices
The design of a millimetre-sized power converter is proposed which is based on coil coupling that could be integrated into the neural or cardiac implantable medical device (IMD) to provide isolated power or energy transmission by harvesting it from ...

A high power CMOS class-D amplifier for inductive-link medical transmitters [PDF]
Powering of medical implants by inductive coupling is an effective technique, which avoids the use of bulky implanted batteries or transcutaneous wires. On the external unit side, class-D and class-E power amplifiers (PAs) are conventionally used thanks ...

core
In this work, a magnetic core‐shell catalyst (HOF‐on‐Fe3O4/ZIF‐67) is successfully synthesized, consisting of a metal–organic framework (ZIF‐67) with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and a porous hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) as the shell. The catalyst efficiently activated peroxymonosulfate, resulting in rapid and effective removal of water ...

Feed-Forward Neural Networks Need Inductive Bias to Learn Equality Relations [PDF]
Basic binary relations such as equality and inequality are fundamental to relational data structures. Neural networks should learn such relations and generalise to new unseen data.
