Selenium‐doped ruthenium phosphide (Ru2(P0.9Se0.1)) is obtained via ion‐engineering techniques. Ru sites in Ru2(P0.9Se0.1) act as primary catalytic centers, optimizing intermediate adsorption energies. The precisely controlled Se doping enhances the Ru−OH moieties formation on the surface while preventing Ru dissolution.

ABSTRACT A large part of data science projects is spent on data engineering. Especially in open data contexts, data quality issues are prevalent and are often tackled by non‐professional programmers. We introduce and evaluate Jayvee, a domain‐specific language for data engineering aimed at reducing barriers to building data pipelines.

Abstract Linguistic distancing behaviours indicative of linguistic dissociation (Moore, 2023) have been documented in social scientific and literary accounts focusing on the lives of Japanese‐English late plurilinguals (LPs; e.g. Harrison, 2011; Kelsky, 2001; McMahill, 2001; Mori, 1997; Takahashi, 2013). Across these cases, diverse Japanese‐English LPs

Rehumanizing Higher Education: Fostering Humanity in the Era of Machine Learning
ABSTRACT Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have raised contentious questions and spawned divided opinions regarding the future of education. The polarization it brings to the academy seems to be breaking between the soft and hard disciplines and is reminiscent of the Science Wars of the 1990s. This chapter highlights the philosophical

Hybrid governance and welfare standards for broiler chickens raised for human consumption
Abstract This article examines the welfare standards that govern the lives of chickens raised for meat in Australia and the United Kingdom. While ‘meat chickens’ are subject to a wide range of welfare interventions, we focus on the development and implications of the ‘private’ standards which are the most significant determinants of meat chicken ...

Reshaping disaster management: An integrated community‐led approach
Abstract The management of disasters has traditionally involved public, private, and nongovernmental organisations working together. While scholars have examined the value of collaborations among these entities, less is known about how to successfully engage and empower communities in disaster management.

Becoming a University President: An Accidental Meritocratic Career Trajectory
Abstract Achieving top leadership positions is a career goal for many, including those in academia. Despite the increasing size and importance of the higher education sector, the literature on university presidents' careers remains scarce. We interviewed 48 university presidents in three academic models (UK, France, and Vietnam) to identify the ‘why ...
