Operating Properties of the Inductive Current Transformer and Evaluation of Requirements for Its Compliance with the IEC 61869-1 WB2 Class Extension for Frequency up to 20 kHz

open access: yesEnergies
Nanocrystalline material provides an opportunity to improve the wideband performance of inductive current transformers and enables the possibility of ensuring their transformation accuracy for distorted and sinusoidal current from 50 Hz up to 20 kHz ...

Identifying capacitive and inductive loss in lumped element superconducting hybrid titanium nitride/aluminum resonators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a method to systematically locate and extract capacitive and inductive losses in superconducting resonators at microwave frequencies by use of mixed-material, lumped element devices.

A novel method for measuring induction machine magnetizing inductance

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1997
This paper presents a novel method for measuring the magnetizing inductance of an induction machine. The approach uses a static DC excitation technique which can be employed whenever the neutral of the machine is accessible. The proposed method measures only the magnetizing inductance and not the self inductance which normally includes the effect of ...

Copper Nanocrystallization in Anodic Oxide Films of Ti–Cu‐Based Bulk Metallic Glass and Its Effect on the Corrosion Resistance and Cytocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 11, 3 June 2026.
Viktoriia Shtefan, Thorgund Nemec, Ute Hempel, Annett Gebert and coworkers demonstrate that anodic treatment of Ti–Cu‐based metallic glass in a nontoxic pyrophosphate electrolyte forms a protective bilayered Ti/Zr‐oxide film enriched with Cu nanocrystals.

Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography for Non-Destructive Testing of Protection Coatings on Metal Substrates

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
In this paper we demonstrate that optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a powerful tool for the non-destructive investigation of transparent coatings on metal substrates.

Influence of normal and radial contributions of local current density on local electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A new tri-electrode probe is presented and applied to local electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (LEIS) measurements. As opposed to two-probe systems, the three-probe one allows measurement not only of normal, but also of radial contributions of local ...

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Demonstration of tokamak vertical stability control based on non-inductive Faraday-effect polarimetry measurements

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Long-pulse or steady-state fusion reactors are envisioned to control vertical stability based on non-inductive measurements, i.e. that do not rely on temporal change of magnetic field.

Preliminary Measurements of the Motion of Arcjet Current Channel Using Inductive Magnetic Probes [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper covers the design and first measurements of non-perturbative, external inductive magnetic diagnostics for arcjet constrictors which can measure the motion of the arc current channel.

Contactless inductive flow tomography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The three-dimensional velocity field of a propeller driven liquid metal flow is reconstructed by a contactless inductive flow tomography (CIFT). The underlying theory is presented within the framework of an integral equation system that governs the ...
