Inductive Resonant Coils for Biomedical Wireless Power Transmission

2020 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference (WPTC), 2020
This study analyzes wireless transmission efficiency in magnetic resonance topology. In wireless power transmission systems, the overall efficiency is limited by the power consumption of coils. To improve the efficiency of wireless power transmission systems, this study proposes a suitable design for implantable devices by studying the shapes of coils,

Induction Power Supply System for Power Transmission Line Inspection Robot

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
In order to prolong continuous working time of one transmission line inspection robot, a power supply system with induction charging unit for this inspection robot is introduced in this paper. Special current transformer by which the robot could get power from power line is designed according to the magnetic field condition around the transmission line.

Induction in Power Transmission Lines During Geomagnetic Disturbances

Space Science Reviews, 1980
The electric field associated with geomagnetic disturbances gives rise to potential differences at the Earth's surface. Thus, currents are induced in power transmission lines which are earthed at both ends through transformers. The currents vary so slowly with time that they can be considered direct currents.

Power-oscillator based high efficiency inductive power-link for transcutaneous power transmission

2010 53rd IEEE International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2010
Transcutaneous power transmission is a critical issue for long term reliable operation of implantable systems. This paper reports a power-oscillator based inductive power link to power up any implantable unit inside the human body. Instead of using power amplifier which requires high drive requirement, two power-oscillator based inductive powering ...

Inductive power transmission for untethered micro-robots

31st Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2005. IECON 2005., 2005
A new concept for inductive power transmission is proposed to transmit constant power over a large area of interest. This concept includes a specially designed winding group at the power transmitting side, which is similar to the windings in a linear motor. The winding group generates a traveling magnetic field over the complete working area.

High power nonlinear transmission lines with nonlinear inductance

2010 IEEE International Power Modulator and High Voltage Conference, 2010
Nonlinear transmission lines have been demonstrated to be an effective technique for generating high power ultrawideband or mesoband radiation without the need for a vacuum system, electron beam, or magnet. Experiments have been performed at UM on a discrete element nonlinear transmission line using nonlinear inductance with input powers of 100 MW ...

A Triple-Loop Inductive Power Transmission System for Biomedical Applications

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems, 2016
A triple-loop wireless power transmission (WPT) system equipped with closed-loop global power control, adaptive transmitter (Tx) resonance compensation (TRC), and automatic receiver (Rx) resonance tuning (ART) is presented. This system not only opposes coupling and load variations but also compensates for changes in the environment surrounding the ...

Simultaneous Inductive Power and Data Transmission System for Smart Applications

IEEE Circuits and Systems Magazine, 2019
Inductive power transfer (IPT) development is a big issue amongst the scientific community but there are only few solutions for communication between the primary and secondary side. This article presents a completely contactless near field system, which can provide power and data simultaneously using one common inductive power link.

Bidirectional high data rate transmission interface for inductively powered devices

CCECE 2003 - Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering. Toward a Caring and Humane Technology (Cat. No.03CH37436), 2004
High data transfer rates in the order of 1 Mbit/s are now in demand for some inductively powered devices, but communication needs to be made without compromising power transfer and its efficiency. This paper compares different modulation schemes and proposes an interface to satisfy demanding bidirectional transmission needs. New demodulation approaches
