Inductive tangential displacement sensor

2016 39th International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology (ISSE), 2016
The objective of this paper is to investigate a new design of an inductive sensor, and its application for measuring tangential displacement. The sensor consists of one stationary inductor and a movable ferrite plate relative to the inductor. Tangential displacement can be measured as a change in the overlapping area between the inductor and the ...

Pulse induction parking sensor

2016 IEEE SENSORS, 2016
This paper presents a pulse induction parking sensor, which measures the induced voltage generated by the presence of a vehicle. The parking information can be then shared into a network to inform the drivers about the on-street parking availability.

Scaling down an inductive proximity sensor

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 1996
Abstract We analyse the problem of scaling down an inductive proximity sensor made of superposed multiple-turn flat coils. We scale down linearly all the geometrical dimensions. Then the nominal inductance is scaled down proportionally to the scale factor. The coupling factor of the superposed coils remains constant.

Magneto-inductive conductivity sensor

Metamaterials, 2011
Abstract Multi-element inductive coil systems are used to measure locally resolved conductivity profile. Usually such sensors rely on the separate interrogation of each coil. In addition, the coils must generally be magnetically decoupled for accurate signal processing.

Current Sensor with low inductance

2019 20th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE), 2019
This paper deals with design of current sensor introducing low inductance. The sensor is designed for a current up to 500 A and 120 kHz. Since the market offers several types of sensors suitable for the targeted application, they usually have problems with measured signal postprocessing.

Fibrous inductance strain sensors for passive inductance textile sensing

Materials Today Physics, 2020
Abstract Stretchable strain-sensitive textiles that can detect human motion and physiological information in real time have considerable potential for application in next-generation wearable electronic devices. However, the application of such textiles has been hindered largely by their vulnerability to magnetic and electrical interference, wear and ...

Inductive verses capacitive sensors

World Pumps, 2013
Both capacitive and inductive position sensors use a non-contact technique to measure position; both use AC electrical phenomena and both can be built using printed circuit boards. This article looks at the fundamental physics behind each technique and outlines the consequent strengths and weaknesses of each approach.
