Toward Scalable Solutions for Silver‐Based Gas Diffusion Electrode Fabrication for the Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 – A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Gram‐Scale Production of Iron Oxide Rubik‐Cube Nanoparticles: New Tools for the Clinical Translation of Magnetic Hyperthermia and Magnetic Particle Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports the first gram‐scale solvothermal synthesis of ‘Rubik's cube’ nanoparticles—cubic, dendritic multicore structures with tuneable sizes and exceptional magnetic heating performance. Featuring iron oxide single‐domain character, with low coercivity fields, high magnetization, and strong MPI signals, they enable viscosity‐independent ...

Spatial and temporal variation in otolith chemistry for tautog (Tautoga onitis) in Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island coastal ponds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The elemental composition of otoliths may provide valuable information for establishing connectivity between fish nursery grounds and adult fish populations. Concentrations of Rb, Mg, Ca, Mn, Sr, Na, K, Sr, Pb, and Ba were determined by using solution-

Enhanced Nitric Oxide Electroreduction to Ammonia via Modulating Spin‐Polarization of Fe Single‐Atom Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A strategic spin‐polarization suppression in Fe single‐atom catalysts is proposed to enhance electrocatalytic reduction of NO to NH3. Employing a top‐down electrospinning strategy, self‐supported FeSAC with Fe‐N3S1 coordination structure and spin‐state transition is engineered from high‐spin to low‐spin.

Iron Redox Speciation Analysis Using Capillary Electrophoresis Coupled to Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (CE-ICP-MS)

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2019
Neuronal iron dyshomeostasis occurs in multiple neurodegenerative diseases. Changes in the Fe(II)/Fe(III) ratio toward Fe(II) is closely related to oxidative stress, lipid peroxidation, and represents a hallmark feature of ferroptosis.
