In Situ Converting Conformal Sacrificial Layer Into Robust Interphase Stabilizes Fluorinated Polyanionic Cathodes for Aqueous Sodium‐Ion Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A unique interfacial conversion concept is proposed to establish robust cathode electrolyte interphase for stabilizing fluorinated polyanionic cathodes in aqueous electrolytes. In a typical case, the conformal Al2O3 sacrificial layer is predeposited on high‐voltage sodium vanadium oxy‐fluorophosphates cathode, which can progressively react with trace ...

Potential‐Driven Dynamic Spring‐Effect of Pd─Cu Dual‐Atoms Empowered Stability and Activity for Electrocatalytic Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The dynamic “spring‐like” behavior of Pd─Cu dual atoms with PdN3─CuN3 coordination structure can be stretched and recovered with potential variation, which remarkably elevates the structural stability and catalytic activity of Cu atoms for electrocatalytic reduction reactions in strong‐acid electrolytes. The modulated electron‐orbit coupling effect and

Transition Metal Slab Gliding: One Key Process for Activating Anionic Redox Reaction in P2‐Type Transition Metal Oxide Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Transition metal (TM) slab gliding is a key process for activating anionic redox reaction in P‐type layered oxide materials. Disordered TM layer weakens interlayer interactions and facilitates TM slab gliding. The resulting O‐type layer promotes reversible TM migration, provides the necessary Na–O–□TM configuration, and activates anionic redox reaction.

Activity‐Selectivity Trends in Electrochemical Urea Synthesis: Co‐Reduction of CO2 and Nitrates Over Single‐Site Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, a series of single‐site metal phthalocyanine catalysts (MPcs (M = Zn, Co, Ni, Cu, and Fe)) are screened to learn their activity‐selectivity relationship in the co‐reduction reaction of CO2 and nitrates toward urea formation, which can be significantly promoted by enhanced adsorption of *HOOCNO, reduced adsorptions of *N and *COOH, and ...

A Nanostructured Ru‐Mn‐Nb Alloy with Oxygen‐Enriched Boundaries for Ampere‐Level Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ru62Mn12Nb21O5 medium‐entropy alloy with a crystal‐crystal dual‐phase structure is deposited on a carbon cloth substrate by the magnetron sputtering method. The oxygen‐rich interface induced by the rich Mn phase and the poor Mn phase optimized the electronic structure of the catalyst, adjusted the adsorption and desorption processes of intermediates ...
