Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Designing power inductors: practical solutions

open access: yes, 2011
An overview of losses and thermal aspects if power inductors is given. Most of the time core losses are given only for sine square wave, but users use it in square waves. Also bulk currents affect losses in larger inductors.

Fan-Out-Package-Embedded Coupled Inductors for Integrated Voltage Conversion

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, novel fan-out-package-embedded coupled inductors are proposed and demonstrated for integrated voltage conversion. The coupled inductors have two interleaved thick windings embedded in a silicon-based fan-out package and surrounding an ...

DC/AC Stage Parameters Design Method for Dual‐Mode Control DC/DC‐DC/AC Converter System

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
Recently, a DC/DC–DC/AC converter system using dual‐mode control to increase efficiency has been actively studied by many researchers. Due to the similar maximum voltage and current stress of switches for dual‐mode control and traditional two‐stage ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Synthetic microwave inductors in SOI technology

open access: yes, 1997
One of the most promising approaches in the field of active filtering has been the replacement of conventional passive resonators with active resonators that are based on high frequency inductance-simulating-circuits. For the first time the possibilities
