Permanent Magnet Biased Inductors–An Overview

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics
This article provides a comprehensive overview of the state of the art in the field of permanent magnet biased inductors, (PMBIs). The theoretical benefits of PMBIs, operating in DC applications, were identified decades ago, in the late 1950’s ...

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Review of MEMS inductors for integrated DC-DC converters

open access: yes, 2022
This report pertains to miniature inductors for integrated switched-mode inductive DC-DC converters applications. Conventional inductive DC-DC converters generally employ external discrete inductor components that are bulky and expensive, thereby ...

Simulation Study of the Small-Signal Characteristics of Single-Phase Common-Mode Inductors with Capacitance Cancellation

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This article proposes a simulation model of single-phase common-mode inductors to evaluate the small-signal characteristic of common-mode inductors when the stray capacitance cancellation method is applied.

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Design and Analysis of Planar Symmetric Six-Phase Coupled Inductors

open access: yes, 2015
International audienceThis paper presents a new symmetric design of multi-phase coupled inductors where all phase inductors share one ferrite core. Designed multi-phase inductors were fabricated using the printed circuit board (PCB) technology. One-layer

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Combined 5‐aminolevulinic acid and ferric ammonium citrate treatment promotes hair follicle growth by activating dermal papilla cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
5‐Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferric ammonium citrate (5‐ALA/FAC) stimulates dermal papilla cell activity and promotes hair follicle growth. The treatment enhances ERK and AKT signaling, increases hair‐inductive gene expression, and restores dermal papilla function suppressed by dihydrotestosterone and oxidative stress, resulting in enhanced hair

Differential Millimetre Wave On-Chip Inductors

open access: yes, 2019
The increasingly interconnected world requires systems that support high data rates, and thus the development of mm-wave systems is necessary. Automotive collision radar (80 GHz) or WLANs (60 GHz) are one of the applications that led the increment of the

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
