Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Egyptian pyramid or Aztec pyramid: How should we describe the industrial architecture of automotive supply chains in Europe? [PDF]

open access: yes
This article questions a terminology that is frequently used to describe automotive supply chains’ industrial architecture. Since vertical disintegration became a trend in the 1980s, this architecture has been represented using the image of the pyramid ...

Architectures for Industrial AIoT Applications

open access: yesSensors
Industry 4.0 introduced new concepts, technologies, and paradigms, such as Cyber Physical Systems (CPSs), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and, more recently, Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). These paradigms ease the creation of complex systems by integrating heterogeneous devices.

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Ephemeral Architecture: A Catalyst for Urban Renewal

open access: yes, 2019
This thesis considers ephemeral architecture as a tool to integrate former industrial structures with their surrounding urban context. Buildings and infrastructure are subject to fluctuations in use and occasionally of abandonment. Temporary urban design

A Digital Twin Based Industrial Automation and Control System Security Architecture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The digital twin is a rather new industrial control and automation systems concept. While the approach so far has gained interest mainly due to capabilities to make advanced simulations and optimizations, recently the possibilities for enhanced security ...

Designing an Open Architecture for the Creative Industry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Companies in the Culture and Creative Industry are characterized by highly networked value chains. However, this value network lacks a profound support in terms of information technology and structure resulting in time-consuming and error-prone manual labor. To overcome these challenges, we conceptualize an application framework for creative industries.

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Industrial architecture as a system

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering & Technology, 2018
It is known that industrial architecture is the important part of modern world. It brings profits and goods to our globalized soсiety. But industrial facilities is the most susceptible to obsolescence because of dynamics of technical progress development and different economic changes in societies.Industrial architecture, as an independent type of an ...
