American Labor History [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
To account for the persistent struggles of a working people that only episodically (and even then with hut a small minority) sought to transform democratic capitalism, and to do so without exaggerating the reality of employer or governmental opposition ...

AI–Guided 4D Printing of Carnivorous Plants–Inspired Microneedles for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an artificial intelligence (AI)‐guided 4D‐printed microneedle platform inspired by carnivorous plants for wound healing. A thermo‐responsive shape memory polymer enables body temperature–triggered self‐coiling for autonomous wound closure.

A Super‐Adhesive Air Filter With Capillarity‐Mediated Spontaneous Particle Absorption via Dynamic Bond Exchange

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We address the inherently weak particle adhesion of conventional air filters by coating a dynamically crosslinked adhesive layer that delivers capillarity‐driven strong adhesion and particle absorption mediated by dynamic bond exchange. The resulting enhancement in particle adhesion enables efficient ultrafast (up to 20 m s−1) and omnidirectional ...

Plasmonic Nanomachines: Creating Local Potential Gradients and Motions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic nanomachines can generate optical, thermal, and chemical potential gradients to drive directional rectilinear, rotational, and twisting motions at the nanometer scale. The integration of multimodal plasmonic forces with functional materials and programmed structural distortions enables precise spatiotemporal actuation, thereby providing a ...

When the Executive Accidentally Supported the Movement: Participatory Democracy and the Rise of the Non-Profit Industrial Complex

open access: yesColumbia Journal of Race and Law
The critique of the non-profit industrial complex has spread from movement groups and movement-aligned scholars in fields like race, gender, and ethnic studies to influence scholars in other fields, including legal scholars.

Nanomaterial Integration at Liquid–Liquid Interfaces for Green Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Functional nanomaterials assembled at liquid–liquid interfaces create dual‐role platforms serving as emulsion stabilizers and catalytic sites, offering enhanced reaction kinetics with improved catalyst recovery and recyclability. This review examines design strategies, structure‐performance relationships, and industrial implementation prospects of ...

Plasma‐Sequence‐Engineered Atomic Layer Deposition of Ultra‐Thin SiNx for Enhanced Etching Resistance in Extreme Ultraviolet Pellicles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Plasma‐sequence‐engineered ALD (PSE‐ALD), based on sequential NH3 and N2 plasma pulses, enables ultrathin, dense SiNx films. ToF‐MS analysis confirms ligand removal via HCl evolution, while increased film density indicates network densification. The resulting SiNx coating provides robust protection of graphite under H2 plasma exposure.
