Market concentration and profitability: the empirical evidence from Serbian manufacturing industry [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik radova Ekonomskog fakulteta u Rijeci : časopis za ekonomsku teoriju i praksu, 2019
The impact of market concentration on profitability is a controversial question in industrial organization without a clear answer. The aim of the research is to investigate this prospective impact in the context of Serbian manufacturing industry.

Discrete particle modelling of buoyant convective particle-laden air flow in solar cavity free-falling particle receivers

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2022
A coupled computational fluid dynamics and discrete particle method numerical model is developed to provide a systematic analysis of buoyant convective particle-laden air flow and heat losses from a solar cavity receiver with free-falling particles.

Measuring the Benefits to Advertising under Monopolistic Competition

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, 2012
This paper determines the benefits and costs of firm-level advertising in a monopolistically competitive industry. The model is useful in an environment in which firm-level costs may be absent or imprecise.

Enhanced discovery of bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase through computer simulation and metagenomic analysis of industrial wastewater

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.

The nested structural organization of the worldwide trade multi-layer network [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports 9, 2866 (2019), 2018
Nestedness has traditionally been used to detect assembly patterns in meta-communities and networks of interacting species. Attempts have also been made to uncover nested structures in international trade, typically represented as bipartite networks in which connections can be established between countries (exporters or importers) and industries.

Random Learning Leads to Faster Convergence in ‘Model‐Free’ ILC: With Application to MIMO Feedforward in Industrial Printing

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
The cost as a function of the number of experiments for a non‐symmetric 21×21$$ 21\times 21 $$ system. Four approaches are shown: the proposed stochastic conjugate gradient ILC (SCGILC) method (), deterministic conjugate gradient ILC (), stochastic gradient descent ILC () and deterministic gradient descent ILC ().
