Framework for industrial embedded system product development and management
2013 International Symposium on System on Chip (SoC), 2013Industrial machines like cranes have very long lifetime and high safety and reliability requirements. Embedded systems including HW boards and SW stacks are used to control the machines. The challenge is how to manage several different HW/SW combinations and versions over the life cycle.

Industrial Food Production Systems
1988There are a number of food production systems that use little or no land (except for buildings) but do use biological organisms, usually in highly controlled environments. No-one would class them as farming, which seems generally to be associated with the use of land or water, but they are regarded here as part of agriculture.

An Interactive Production Planning System in the Chemical Industry
Journal of the Operational Research Society, 1978This paper offers an example of a practical production planning system as used routinely by BP Chemicals Ltd. It is based on the interactive control of a linear programming model embedded in a system for data collection and report production. The model solves a "product mix" type of problem with a multi-criteria objective function.

Elementary Spatial Systems of Industrial Production
Soviet Geography, 1972AbstractAn elementary spatial system of industrial production is conceptualized as the primary geographical formation in industry. Such an elementary production system (EPS) is viewed as consisting of raw-material and consumption nodes connected by lines of movement with a single production node.
