Valorising an industrial residue towards a calcium sulfoaluminate cement

open access: yes, 2019
Calcium sulfoaluminate (CSA) cements and the formation of the ye’elimite (C4A3$) phase was first synthesised and studied by Ragozina1 in 1957, and its composition was identified as 3CaO·3Al2O3·CaSO4 by Fukuda2 in 1961.

Modelling and simulation of an industrial RFCCU‑riser reactor for catalytic cracking of vacuum residue [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A one-dimensional adiabatic mathematical model was developed for the riser reactor of an industrial residue fluid catalytic cracking unit (RFCCU). A seven-lump kinetic model was presented for the catalytic cracking of vacuum residue, taking cognisance ...

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Morphology effect on catalytic performance of ebullated-bed residue hydrotreating over Ni–Mo/Al2O3 catalyst: A kinetic modeling study

open access: yesGreen Chemical Engineering
Upgrading of vacuum residue is of prime industrial significance due to the increasing demand for light oils. Elucidating the effect of catalyst morphology on vacuum residue hydrotreating performance by kinetic modeling is therefore of great importance ...

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...
