Principles for Rigorous Design and Application of Synthetic Microbial Communities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SynComs are artificially designed to enable inter‐species metabolic interactions, metabolic division of labor, and ecological interactions that can elicit phenotypes like colonization stability and environmental adaptation. This systematic review explores the processes used to construct SynComs, the assessment of the mechanisms of metabolic interaction

Different modulation of Panax notoginseng on the absorption profiling of triptolide and tripterine from Tripterygium wilfordii in rat intestine

open access: yesChinese Medicine, 2018
Background Compatibility with Panax notoginseng (PN) reduced the plasma concentration of triptolide and delayed the Tmax of Tripterygium wilfordii (TW), the sovereign medicine of Qing-Luo Tong-Bi decoction, which hinted the absorption process of ...

Mozambique’s industrialization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
After the Second World War, Mozambique went through a series of transformations, from an incipient industrializing colonial society to an independent country with a central planned economy, plus a regional and internal war, and finally from 1994 onwards, a multi-party democracy with a mix of market economy and a still strong public hand.

Tobacco Smoke Exposure From Prenatal To Adolescent Periods Drives IBD Pathogenesis: Dynamic DNA Methylation Signatures Across Lifespan Stages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study illustrates that maternal smoking during pregnancy (MSDP) is an independent risk factor for IBD in offspring, and DNA methylation serves as a key mechanistic pathway connecting early‐life smoking exposure with IBD risk in offspring. That highlights the urgent need for preventive interventions targeting prospective parents and minors to ...

Engineering Charge Heterogeneity in COF/Graphene Hydrogels for Salt‐Resistant Solar Evaporation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hetero‐charged COF/graphene hydrogel (HCG‐1) with spatially separated cationic and anionic domains is engineered to achieve salt‐resistant solar evaporation. This unique charge architecture regulates Na⁺ and Cl− distribution, promotes intermediate‐water formation and effectively suppresses salt crystallization, enabling stable solar evaporation in ...
