Comparison of suicide rates among industrial groups

American Journal of Industrial Medicine, 1994
AbstractSuicide rates among industrial groups were examined systematically using death certificate data from 1984 through 1989 in Alabama. Poisson loglinear modelling was used to estimate the rate ratios (RR) of industries compared to a referent and to adjust for confounding. Marked differences in suicide rates were found among industrial groups.

Comparison of Clustering Methods in Cotton Textile Industry

2015
Clustering is the task of partitioning data objects into groups, so that the objects within a cluster are similar to one another and dissimilar to the objects in other clusters. The efficiency random algorithm for good k is used to estimate the optimal number of clusters.

Industry Analysts and the Labour of Comparison

2010
This chapter considers how incommensurable artefacts and actors are brought together, the relationships between them standardized, so that they can be compared in the same space. This issue — described here as the labour of comparison — is beginning to attract attention from scholars in Science and Technology Studies (STS), Economic Sociology ...

Comparison of EC and Japanese Industrial Strategies for the Polymer Industries

Progress in Rubber and Plastics Technology, 1993
Japan's position today in the chemical and related polymer industry is compared with that of its major EC and North American competitors and the reasons for the primary domestic focus are explored. Although the strategic thrust for the major Japanese companies has been to develop the domestic base, external influences are now causing this to change and

A comparison of the artistic aspects of various industrial robots

Proceedings of the first international conference on Industrial and engineering applications of artificial intelligence and expert systems - IEA/AIE '88, 1988
Robot choreography has been developed to explore the aesthetic implications of robotic movement. The application of choreographic techniques to robot motion has evolved as a result of the implementation of the new technology. New materials and techniques have made changes possible in artistic forms.
