Recapitulating Endochondral Ossification for Bone Repair: From Development to Engineering Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the developmental basis of endochondral ossification (ECO) and its applications in bone tissue engineering (BTE). It first outlines the key biological processes and signaling pathways underlying ECO, then discusses biomaterial‐based engineering strategies derived from these principles, and finally highlights future directions for

Measuring Inefficiency in Public Utilities: Does the Distribution Matter? [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we describe two of the most used distributions for the inefficiency term in a stochastic frontier: the Half Normal and the Exponential distributions.

EXTERNAL FACTOR AS A CAUSE OF INEFFICIENCY IN THE CONFLICT RESOLUTION OF DARFUR

open access: yesRUDN Journal of World History, 2015
The article analyses the ethno-political conflict in Darfur (Sudan) that began in 2003 between the Arab armed militia of central Sudanese government known as Janjawid, and the two popular rebel groups of Darfur namely “Sudan People Liberation Army’’, and

Dual Acidic pH‐Responsive Post‐Crosslinked E‐Spun Nanofibrous Scaffolds Exhibiting Enhanced Disassembly and Release for Localized Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Dual acidic pH‐responsive degradable e‐spun nanofibrous mats crosslinked with acid‐labile imine and boronic ester linkages that exhibit rapid degradation and enhanced release of encapsulated anticancer drugs through their acid‐catalyzed hydrolysis and their doxorubicin‐loaded mats having desired antitumoral activity and hemocompatibility, as promising ...

AN ANALYSIS OF TECHNICAL, ALLOCATIVE, AND SCALE INEFFICIENCY: THE CASE OF ECUADORIAN DAIRY FARMS

open access: yes
The economic efficiency of 68 Ecuadorian dairy farms is investigated by estimating technical, allocative, and scale efficiencies for each using stochastic frontier methodology.

The Confessions of an Inefficient Provider

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2011
![Figure][1] It has been said that nearly everyone has details in their lives that they are anxious to keep secret. These are issues, often involving guilt, that we carry inside hoping that they will never become known.

Technical inefficiency and public capital in US States: A stochastic frontier approach [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper estimates a translog stochastic frontier production function in the analysis of all 48 contiguous U.S. states in the period 1970-1983, to attempt to measure and explain changes in technical efficiency.

Counterintuitive Fluorescence Blue Shift in Symmetry Breaking Dicationic Bis(indolium) with Two‐Photon Absorption Properties for NIR Living Cell Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Highly water‐soluble dicationic bis(indolium) dyes have been prepared, showing excellent two‐photon absorption and light emission. Their fluorescence behavior discloses an unusual increasing blue shift with increasing solvent polarity, which, in parallel, is beneficial for enhanced detection in biological media.
