Inelastic neutron scattering cross-section measurements on 7Li and 63,65Cu

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
The γ-ray production cross section for the 477.6-keV transition in 7Li following inelastic neutron scattering has been measured from the reaction threshold up to 18 MeV.

Magnetic Excitations in the Ground State of $\mathrm{Yb_2Ti_2O_7}$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We report an extensive study on the zero field ground state of a powder sample of the pyrochlore $\mathrm{Yb_2Ti_2O_7}$. A sharp heat capacity anomaly that labels a low temperature phase transition in this material is observed at 280 mK.

Polycrystalline Time-of-Flight Inelastic Neutron Scattering beyond the Density of States

open access: yesProceedings, 2019
Conventionally, experimental phonon dispersions are determined by inelastic neutron scattering on triple-axis spectrometers or by inelastic X-ray scattering, in both cases requiring single crystalline samples. [...]

Studies of 54,56Fe Neutron Scattering Cross Sections

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
Elastic and inelastic neutron scattering differential cross sections and γ-ray production cross sections have been measured on 54,56Fe at several incident energies in the fast neutron region between 1.5 and 4.7 MeV. All measurements were completed at the

Inelastic scattering of fast neutrons from 56Fe

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
The inelastic scattering of fast neutrons on 56Fe was investigated in different manners at the neutron time-of-flight facility nELBE. The scattering cross section was determined via the measurement of the γ-ray production and by means of a kinematically ...

Neutron Total Scattering and Inelastic Neutron Scattering

open access: yesNihon Kessho Gakkaishi, 2004
Measurement of total scattering, which includes both the Bragg peaks and the diffuse scattering, can give information about the short-range structure of materials. This is quite useful for understanding the structure of liquid, glasses and amorphous materials.

Experimental study of ultracold neutron production in pressurized superfluid helium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We have investigated experimentally the pressure dependence of the production of ultracold neutrons (UCN) in superfluid helium in the range from saturated vapor pressure to 20bar.

Evaluation of thermal neutron scattering law of nuclear-grade isotropic graphite [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Graphite is a candidate of moderator in innovative nuclear reactors such as high-temperature gas-cooled reactors and molten salt reactors. Scattering of thermal neutrons by a moderator material has a significant impact on the reactor core design.

Magnetic excitations of Sr$_3$Ir$_2$O$_7$ observed by inelastic neutron scattering measurement [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 90, 025001 (2021), 2020
In this short note, we report on the first inelastic neutron scattering (INS) study on high-energy magnetic excitations in Sr$_3$Ir$_2$O$_7$. We observed excitations between $\sim$80 meV and $\sim$180 meV. The peak position of the excitations is consistent with the dispersion of a single magnon determined by resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS ...
