This study explores how mechanical strain affects the optical and molecular properties of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) films, crucial for flexible electronics. Using UV–Vis and Raman spectroscopy, it reveals strain‐induced changes in transparency and vibrational modes. Findings provide insights into optimizing PET‐based devices like organic solar

Inelastic scattering from quantum impurities
We review the non-perturbative theoretical framework set up recently to compute the inelastic scattering cross section from quantum impurities [G. Zar\'and {\it et al.}, Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 93}, 107204 (2004)] and show how it can be applied to a number

Nanomaterial‐Based Optical Biosensors for SARS‐CoV‐2 Detection: A Retrospective of the Pandemic
This review discusses nanomaterial‐based optical biosensors developed for or adapted to the detection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2). It concludes by providing a perspective on how lessons learned during the coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic may be applied for future research on nanomaterial‐based ...

New analysis concerning the strange quark polarization puzzle
The fact that analyses of semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering suggest that the polarized strange quark density $\Delta s(x) + \Delta \bar{s}(x)$ is positive in the measured region of Bjorken x, whereas all analyses of inclusive deep inelastic ...

Human Schlafen 14 Cleavage of Short Double‐Stranded RNAs Underpins its Antiviral Activity
SLFN14 is associated with human diseases. SLFN14 is found to cleave RNAs containing short duplexes. The cryo‐EM structures of SLFN14 and SLFN14‐hairpin RNA complex reveal that SLFN14 assembles into a ring‐like dimer; two RNase domains form an RNA‐binding groove accommodating a hairpin RNA.
