Scanning transmission electron microscopy imaging techniques are an essential tool to document dynamic developments, such as precipitation in aluminum alloys, during in situ heating experiments using transmission electron microscopy. However, in many cases, chemical information is required to interpret complex nanoscale processes.

Role of electron-electron collisions for charge and heat transport at intermediate temperatures
Electric, thermal, and thermoelectric transport in correlated electron systems probe different aspects of the many-body dynamics, and thus provide complementary information.

Ultrahigh-Energy Neutrino-Nucleon Cross Sections and Perturbative Unitarity [PDF]
Unitarity relates the total cross section for neutrino-nucleon scattering to the neutrino-nucleon forward scattering amplitude. Assuming the validity of the perturbative expansion of the forward amplitude in the {\em weak} coupling constant, we derive a ...

Achieving Large and Anisotropic Spin‐Mediated Thermal Transport in Textured Quantum Magnets
An advanced solvent‐cast cold pressing method is developed to synthesize highly textured quantum magnets. By aligning spin chains in Ca2CuO3 perpendicular to the pressing direction, a spin‐mediated thermal conductivity of 10 ± 1 W m⁻¹ K⁻¹ is achieved, the highest reported for polycrystalline quantum materials.

State-to-state methane-surface scattering as a probe of catalytic activity
Quantum state-resolved scattering experiments for methane molecules colliding with a catalytically active nickel surface are compared to scattering from a nickel surface passivated by a single layer of graphene.

A Consistent Picture of Electronic Raman Scattering and Infrared Conductivity in the Cuprates
Calculations are presented for electronic Raman scattering and infrared conductivity in a $d_{x^{2}-y^{2}}$ superconductor including the effects of elastic scattering via anisotropic impurities and inelastic spin-fluctuation scattering.

A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...
