Inertia effects in the dynamic response of a cylindrical shell.

AIAA Journal, 1966
A plot of a sample pressure distribution for various values of N is given in Fig. 2. Here the electromagnetic effect essentially increases the total pressure by giving rise to a magnetic pressure. The electromagnetic force in this situation is a purely irrotational body force. Grad generally indicated that this type of problem was reducible but gave no

Optimization of Inertia Welding Process by Response Surface Methodology

Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1972
The inertia welding process was investigated using Response Surface Methodology. The optimum welding condition to yield maximum breaking strength at the weld was attained through a steepest ascent path. A second-order predicting equation for weld strength was established without significant lack of fit to the data.

Epistemic Inertia and Epistemic Isolationism: A Response to Buchanan

Journal of Applied Philosophy, 2009
abstract  Allen Buchanan argues that conventional applied ethics is impoverished and would be enriched by the addition of social moral epistemology. The aim here is to clarify this argument and to raise questions about whether such an addition is necessary about how such enrichment would work in practice. Two broad problems are identified.

Thermal Inertia In Residential Buildings For Demand Response

2016
A smart home energy management system has been used to reshape the electricity demand of the residential buildings widely. It normally requires understanding the capability of residential buildings’ thermal mass which revisits to the temperature flatirons and providing enough energy buffers.
