MEMS inertial sensors: A tutorial overview
IEEE Communications Magazine, 2013Inertial sensors based on MEMS technology are fast becoming ubiquitous with their adoption into many types of consumer electronics products, including smart phones, tablets, gaming systems, TV remotes, toys, and even (more recently) power tools and wearable sensors.

Calibration of Inertial Sensors
2000Abstract : The calibration of accelerometers, angular rate sensors, and inertial measurement units (IMU) increases the accuracy of their measurements. For artillery rounds and most rockets, measurements are acquired while the body is spinning. By the comparison of the sensor output to known input, calibration is accomplished.

This chapter discusses some of the most important gyroscopic rotation sensors that have been in use throughout this century. The central issues are their mathematical model and characteristic error sources, which allow the prediction of their performance in various applications and environments. The knowledge of the angular attitude of a flight vehicle
