Capturing the Electrical Activity of all Cortical Neurons: Are Solutions Within Reach?

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Despite advancements in implantable electrode technology, challenges persist in scaling up these devices to record most of the neuronal activity across the cortex. This review explores the limitations of both rigid and flexible probes, including tissue damage and foreign body response, while also discussing emerging biohybrid strategies.

Acoustic Metasurface for Space‐time Reflection Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article introduces a novel space‐time acoustic metasurface (STAM) to overcome the limitations of bulky structures in sound modulation. Using a programmable piezoelectric array, the STAM precisely controls waterborne acoustic waves through spatiotemporal phase modulation.

Peptide Hormone‐Mediated Regulation of Plant Development and Environmental Adaptability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this review, recent advances in understanding the roles of plant peptide hormones in regulating growth, reproduction, and environmental adaptability are systematically summarized. It further elucidates the challenges in studying these peptides, such as their low abundance, functional redundancy, and complex signaling mechanisms, and highlights their
