FURIN induces vascular endothelial cell death and efferocytosis through enzymatic cleavage of thrombospondin‐1

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend FURIN induces vascular endothelial cell (VEC) death and efferocytosis through enzymatic cleavage of thrombospondin‐1 (THBS1). FURIN interacts with THBS1 to induce VEC apoptosis and efferocytosis, resulting in increased endothelial permeability.

Pandemic Patterns: The Long‐Term Health Outcomes of 1918 Influenza Survivors in the St. John's General Hospital of Newfoundland and Labrador

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Human Biology, Volume 38, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Research surrounding the 1918 influenza pandemic has primarily been a story of mortality despite theoretical and practical reasons to focus on the pandemic's long‐term impacts.
