Primary Aortic Infections and Infected Aneurysms

open access: yesAnnals of Vascular Diseases, 2010
Primary infections of the aorta and infected aortic aneurysms are rare and are life threatening. Most of them are due to bacterial infection occurring in an atheromatous plaque or a pre existing aneurysm during bacteremia. Rarely spread from a contiguous septic process may be the cause. The reported hospital mortality ranges from 16-44%.

UBE2O Drives Immune Evasion and Radioimmunotherapy Resistance in Lung Cancer by Degrading CDKL1 to Induce PD‐L1 Transcription

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
UBE2O targets CDKL1 for the degradation to upregulate PD‐L1 expression and promotes resistance to radioimmunotherapy in lung cancer, supporting the potential of targeting UBE2O as a promising therapeutic strategy. ABSTRACT Resistance to radioimmunotherapy is one of the primary causes of treatment failure in lung cancer patients; however, the underlying

Severe ADEM‐Like Neuroinflammatory Disease and Cerebrovascular Fragility With Recurrent Pseudoaneurysms and Moyamoya in a Familial Germline CBL Mutation: Expanding the Clinical Phenotype

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Heterozygous germline variants in CBL disrupt its function as a negative regulator of the Ras/MAPK pathway, classically predisposing to Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) and moyamoya. We describe two affected siblings carrying a paternally inherited CBL variant (c.1210 T> C, p.

Lung Ultrasound for the Detection of Radiologic Progression of Interstitial Lung Abnormalities in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is an important extra‐articular manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) associated with high mortality and morbidity. Lung ultrasonography (LUS) has recently emerged as a possible screening tool. We assessed the role of LUS in monitoring radiologic progression and the development of new interstitial lung ...
