The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1697-1716, April 2025.
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

From Membrane Composition to Antimicrobial Strategies: Experimental and Computational Approaches to AMP Design and Selectivity

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are promising candidates for next‐generation antibiotics, acting through mechanisms such as membrane disruption and intracellular targeting. This review examines how variations in bacterial membrane composition critically influence AMP activity.

Associations between early life exposure to parvovirus and antibiotic treatment and the occurrence and severity of later chronic enteropathy in dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Canine parvovirus (CPV) infection is reportedly associated with chronic enteropathy (CE), but infected puppies are often treated with antibiotics, which may also promote CE. This study aims to compare the presence and severity of CE among dogs that were CPV‐infected, treated with antibiotics or healthy during puppyhood.

Body condition score and weight are effective targeted selective treatment indicators for gastrointestinal nematodes in premating ewes

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Ewe reproductive performance is key for flock profitability but can be impacted upon by gastrointestinal nematode (GIN) infections. Farmers commonly deworm ewes pre‐mating, yet concerns regarding anthelmintic resistance increase pressure to reduce wormer use.
