A Winter Epizootic of Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1970SUMMARY An epizootic of infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (ibk) occurred during winter in a Hereford herd. The factors contributing to this epizootic were: (1) Moraxella bovis infection in the eyes and nares of the cattle and (2) increased ultraviolet radiation of the cornea because of reflection from fresh snow.

LESIONS ASSOCIATED WITH INFECTIOUS KERATOCONJUNCTIVITIS IN ALPINE IBEX
Journal of Wildlife Diseases, 1997Following a severe infectious keratoconjunctivitis (IKC) epizootic in free-ranging alpine ibex (Capra ibex ibex) in Switzerland in 1993, 19 animals were examined from six different populations. Mucopurulent exudates, reddened conjunctiva and mononuclear inflammatory cell infiltration in the conjunctiva and the limbic area were observed in mild cases ...

Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis: Evidence for general immunity
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1983SUMMARY A study was conducted to determine whether acquired immunity to Moraxella bovis during episodes of infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (ibk) was local or general. Twelve calves (principals) were exposed to M bovis in the left eye by conjunctival sac instillation on day 1 and in both eyes on day 21.

A national survey of the occurrence of infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis
Australian Veterinary Journal, 1982SUMMARY A national mail survey of 4880 beef and dairy producers was undertaken to record details of infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis. One thousand four hundred and fifty eight (29.8%) questionnaires were returned. The survey confirmed the widespread nature of the disease with higher prevalence in the summer months, in calves and dairy cattle, and

Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis Management
American Association of Bovine Practitioners Conference Proceedings, 2007Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis is a disease that affects many herds in the US, however, the epidemiology of the disease is complicated and control is frustrating for many producers. This article discusses putative causes of IBK and approaches to understanding the causes of success and apparent failure in IBK control programs.

Bilateral Infectious Ulcers Associated With Atopic Keratoconjunctivitis
Cornea, 2006A case of atopic keratoconjunctivitis complicated by bilateral infectious ulcers is described. Both eyes underwent complete ophthalmologic examination and in vivo confocal microscopy imaging by using the Heidelberg Retina Tomograph II Rostock-cornea-module (HRT II-RCM) and were photographed.Topical antibiotics and corticosteroids associated with oral ...

The purpose of this article is to discuss the host as a cause of infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK). The focus is on the host genetics rather than characteristics of the host, such as age, sex, and season of birth. From 4 conducted studies, estimates of IBK heritability are generally less than 0.15, except for some estimates for Herefords and
