Seismic response of 3D steel buildings considering the effect of PR connections and gravity frames. [PDF]

open access: yesScientificWorldJournal, 2014
The nonlinear seismic responses of 3D steel buildings with perimeter moment resisting frames (PMRF) and interior gravity frames (IGF) are studied explicitly considering the contribution of the IGF. The effect on the structural response of the stiffness of the beam‐to‐column connections of the IGF, which is usually neglected, is also studied.

Large‐scale patterns of green turtle trophic ecology in the eastern Pacific Ocean

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 12, Issue 6, June 2021., 2021
Abstract Trophic position and niche width are fundamental components of a species’ ecology, reflecting resource use, and influencing key demographic parameters such as somatic growth, maturation, and survival. Concepts about a species’ trophic niche space have important implications for local management and habitat protection, and can shed light about ...

Safety Evaluation of High Concrete‐Faced Rockfill Dam Based on Site‐Related Response Spectrum Using Scenario Earthquake

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
To clarify how to arrive at earthquake ground motion parameters for use in evaluating the high rockfill dams during seismic loading conditions, as well as to evaluate reasonably the seismic response of dams subjected to strong earthquake, the differences of design response spectra determined by scenario earthquake and uniform hazard spectra theory are ...
