Performance of alternative CFRP retrofitting schemes used in infilled RC frames
A number of experimental studies have been reported in recent literature about the beneficial effects of infill walls on the seismic response of reinforced concrete (RC) frames. The experimental study presented in this paper mainly focuses on the behavior of bare and carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFPR)-retrofitted infilled RC frames with different ...

A numerical study on the seismic retrofit of Haitian reinforced concrete building frames
Many countries with moderate and high seismic risk have upgraded their building design standards and have developed techniques to strengthen their seismically deficient buildings. However, very limited research has been conducted on the seismic evaluation and retrofit of Haiti’s existing buildings.

Strengthening of brick infilled RC frames with different aspect ratios by means of CFRP overlays
Post earthquake field investigations reveal that frames with inferior detailing are vulnerable to seismic actions. The presence of a large building stock in Turkey, which is vulnerable to an imminent earthquake, entails fast, relatively easy, and ...

Behavior of masonry infill panels in RC frames subjected to in plane and out of plane loads [PDF]
The building envelope in Europe is usually made of masonry walls, with enclosure and infill functions. Masonry walls have a major economical importance and contribute significantly to the building performance.

Experimental investigation on the ultimate strength of partially infilled and steel-braced reinforced concrete frames [PDF]
Infilled walls are normally considered as nonstructural elements. However, these walls are effective in carrying lateral loads. In this regard, an experimental investigation was planned and conducted to study the effect of braced and partially concrete ...

Effect of introducing RC infill on seismic performance of damaged RC frames
The main objective of this study was to investigate the seismic behavior of damaged reinforced concrete frames rehabilitated by introducing cast in place reinforced concrete infills. Four bare and five infilled frames were constructed and tested. Each specimen consisted of two (twin) 1/3-scale, one-bay and two-story reinforced concrete frames.
