Aggregation and the Structure of Value

open access: yesNoûs, Volume 60, Issue 3, Page 619-644, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Roughly, the view I call “Additivism” sums up value across time and people. Given some standard assumptions, I show that Additivism follows from two principles. The first says that how lives align in time cannot, in itself, matter. The second says, roughly, that a world cannot be better unless it is better within some period or another.

Distinct Neural Dynamics Underlying Reward Expectation Formation and Outcome Processing: Insights From ERP and Time‐Frequency Analyses

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 63, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Reward expectations are fundamental to theories of decision making and reinforcement learning. While prior research has focused on how expectations can influence outcome processing, far fewer studies have investigated how these expectations are actually formed. To address this gap, we measured EEG activity from participants as they completed a

Markup Centrality and International Incidence in Global Production Networks

open access: yesReview of International Economics, Volume 34, Issue 4, Page 891-903, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper develops a framework to measure how markups amplify prices through global production networks and to attribute final‐demand price wedges to upstream country‐industry sources. The approach defines a compound markup as the ratio of observed prices to counterfactual pure‐cost prices that would prevail if all markups in the network were

Sharp Upper Bound for Amplitudes of Finite‐Gap Solutions of the Modified Korteweg‐de Vries Equation

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, Volume 157, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT A sharp upper bound is established for the amplitudes of finite‐gap solutions of the focusing modified Korteweg–de Vries equation. The proof shows that the optimization can be carried out entirely within the finite‐dimensional hierarchy, without explicit integration of the finite‐gap solution. The maximal amplitude is expressed in terms of the
