Port Hamiltonian Formulation of Infinite Dimensional Systems II. Boundary Control by Interconnection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper, some new results concerning the boundary control of distributed parameter systems in port Hamiltonian form are presented. The classical finite dimensional port Hamiltonian formulation of a dynamical system has been generalized to the ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Lie algebras: infinite generalizations and deformations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
There are many applications of Lie algebras to theoretical physics. This thesis is a study of some new mathematical structures which also are applicable to current physical ideas.

Infinite-dimensional projected dynamics and the 1-dimensional obstacle problem

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2005
In this paper we present a direct application of the theory of infinite-dimensional projected dynamical systems (PDS) related to the well-known obstacle problem, i.e., the problem of determining the shape of an elastic string stretched over a body ...

Precuantización en difeologías suaves

open access: yesRevista de Matemática: Teoría y Aplicaciones, 2009
We define a prequantization in the category of smooth diffeological spaces ( a category which includes finite an infinite dimensional systems), in the case where the symplectic form is exact, extending, for this case, the results of Kirillov, Kostant and

Long-lived coherence in driven many-spin systems: from two to infinite spatial dimensions

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
Long-lived coherences, emerging under periodic pulse driving in the disordered ensembles of strongly interacting spins, offer immense advantages for future quantum technologies, but the physical origin and the key properties of this phenomenon remain ...

Quantum groups and functional relations for arbitrary rank

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2021
The quantum integrable systems associated with the quantum loop algebras Uq(L(sll+1)) are considered. The factorized form of the transfer operators related to the infinite dimensional evaluation representations is found and the determinant form of the ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Robust controllers for infinite-dimensional systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
This paper describes three theories for robust controller design for infinite-dimensional linear systems. They concern unstructured perturbations in the transfer function of additive, multiplicative and coprime-factor types.
