The Finite Promise of Infinite Love, or What Does It Mean to Love Forever?

open access: yesPhilosophies
This paper offers a philosophical account of the specific form of romantic love underlying the ideal of love-based marriages. Rather than examining the institution of marriage, it considers marriage as the promise of infinite love between finite persons.

Allama Hasan-zada Amoli's Criticism of the Arguments for “Finiteness of Dimensions of Objects [PDF]

open access: yesحکمت صدرایی, 2016
Proposed in the fields of old geometry and natural philosophy, the problem of finiteness or infiniteness of bodily objects is one of the philosophical problems that had been demonstrated by appealing to mathematical propositions.

Infinite friendship graphs with infinite parameters

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series B, 1991
We study infinite graphs in which every set of \(\kappa\) vertices has exactly \(\lambda\) common neighbours. We prove that there exist \(2^{\sigma}\) such graphs of each infinite order \(\sigma\) if \(\kappa\) is finite and that for \(\kappa\) infinite there are \(2^{\lambda}\) of them of order \(\lambda\) and none of cardinality greater than ...

The neuropsychological profile of professional action video game players [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2020
In the past 20 years, there has been growing research interest in the association between video games and cognition. Although many studies have found that video game players are better than non-players in multiple cognitive domains, other studies failed ...

Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Roxarestat in Regulating Renal Anemia in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of roxarestat versus recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in the management of renal anemia in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Methods This was a prospective, open‐label, randomized controlled trial.

Special wave finite and infinite elements for the solution of the Helmholtz equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The theory and the formulation of the special wave finite elements are discussed, and the special integration schemes for the elements are developed.

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

On the Origins of the Very First Principle as Infinite: The Hierarchy of the Infinite in Damascius and Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite

open access: yesPeitho, 2019
This paper discusses the theoretical relationship between the views of Damascius and those of Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite. While Damascius’ De principiis is a bold treatise devoted to investigating the hypermetaphysics of apophatism, it anticipates ...
