Infinitesimal transformations on noncompact manifolds
Annali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata, 1987This paper is devoted to study the \(A_ X\)-operator associated to a Killing vector field (resp. infinitesimal analytic transformation) on a complete but non-compact Riemannian (resp. Kaehler) manifold. Recall that in the compact case Kostant (resp. Lichnerowicz) proved that this operator belongs to the holonomy algebra at any point.

Finite and Infinitesimal Canonical Transformations
Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1970The general relation between the infinitesimal generator of a 1-parameter subgroup of canonical transformations and the usual finite generating functions is obtained. This relation is found to be simply a generalization of the Hamilton-Jacobi equation.

Global and Infinitesimal Nonlinear Chiral Transformations
Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1970The problem of determining arbitrary nonlinear representations of a given compact Lie group is studied with the object of constructing Lagrangians invariant under the group. To achieve this, expressions for the covariant derivatives are obtained and it is shown how previous treatments based on global and on infinitesimal considerations are related. The

On infinitesimal transformations and limit cycles†
International Journal of Control, 1970A necessary condition for the existence of the limit cycle(s) of a second-order autonomous system, which can be reduced to a first-order system invariant under an infinitesimal transformation, is discussed in this paper. A method for obtaining an expression which will always include any limit cycle of the system that may exist is also shown.

Lie Groups of Transformations and Infinitesimal Transformations
1989In dimensional analysis the scaling transformations of the fundamental dimensions (1.86), the induced scaling transformations of the measurable quantities (1.88), the induced scaling transformations of all quantities (1.88), (1.89), and the induced scaling transformations preserving all constants (1.88), (1.91), are all examples of Lie groups of ...

Gauge Invariance of Equilibrium Statistical Mechanics.
Physical Review LettersWe identify a recently proposed shifting operation on classical phase space as a gauge transformation for statistical mechanical microstates. The infinitesimal generators of the continuous gauge group form a noncommutative Lie algebra, which induces ...

Symmetry and feasibility of infinitesimal transformations
Il Nuovo Cimento B, 1981We consider the ten-dimensional vector space Open image in new window whose elements are generators of infinitesimal transformations of the tendimensional manifold Open image in new window of all the local reference frames. We indicate by Open image in new window the convex closed cone which contains the generators of the physically feasible ...

Infinitesimal symmetry transformations of the Langevin equation
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1988The Langevin (stochastic) equation of interest reads \[ mx''=eE+F(x,t)+m\tau x''',\quad \tau =2e^ 2/(3mc^ 3), \] where m is the mass, e the charge of the particle, F the external given force and E the electric field of the radiation. When examining the infinitesimal invariance transformations related to the above equation, the authors determine the Lie
