On the limit configuration of four species strongly competing systems

open access: yes, 2019
We analysed some qualitative properties of the limit configuration of the solutions of a reaction-diffusion system of four competing species as the competition rate tends to infinity.

Tutte's invariant approach for Brownian motion reflected in the quadrant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We consider a Brownian motion with drift in the quarter plane with orthogonal reflection on the axes. The Laplace transform of its stationary distribution satisfies a functional equation, which is reminiscent from equations arising in the enumeration of (

A new analytical method for solving the problem of one-dimensional transient heat conduction in a slab by using the temperature solutions of semi-infinite solids

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2017
A new simple analytical method for solving the problem of one-dimensional transient heat conduction in a slab of finite thickness is proposed, in which the initial temperature is assumed zero or constant and the boundary surfaces are assumed to be at ...

An obstacle problem for Tug-of-War games [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We consider the obstacle problem for the infinity Laplace equation. Given a Lipschitz boundary function and a Lipschitz obstacle we prove the existence and uniqueness of a super infinity-harmonic function constrained to lie above the obstacle which is ...

The end time of SIS epidemics driven by random walks on edge-transitive graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Network epidemics is a ubiquitous model that can represent different phenomena and finds applications in various domains. Among its various characteristics, a fundamental question concerns the time when an epidemic stops propagating.

Convergent, with rates, methods for normalized infinity Laplace, and related, equations

open access: yes, 2022
We propose a monotone, and consistent numerical scheme for the approximation of the Dirichlet problem for the normalized Infinity Laplacian, which could be related to the family of so--called two--scale methods. We show that this method is convergent, and prove rates of convergence.

Nonlocal Conduction in a Metawire

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A 1D metawire composed of twisted copper wires is designed and realized. This metamaterial exhibits pronounced effects of nonlocal electric conduction according to Ohm's law. The current at one location not only depends on the electric field at that location but also on other locations.

Fundamental solution of the problem describing ship motion in waves [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2006
The problem describing a ship motion in waves comprises the Laplace equation, boundary condition on wetted surface of the ship, condition on the free surface of the sea in the form of a differential equation, the radiation condition, and a condition at ...

Interfacial Behavior of Methane in Methane/p‐Xylene/Water Systems: First Principles Inspected Using Neutron Imaging and Molecular Dynamics Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Pressurized gases reduce interfacial tension (IFT) at the gas‐liquid interfaces, their influence on the liquid–liquid interfaces remains unclear. For model compounds methane, water, and p‐xylene, neutron imaging observation of pressurized three‐phase systems is combined with Molecular Dynamics simulations.

Accelerating Luminescence in Nanostructures: Exploring the Physical Limits and Impact of Ultrafast Emission in Nanoscale Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in accelerating luminescence in nanostructures through cooperative emission, resonator coupling, and nonlocal light–matter interactions. By unifying concepts such as excitonic superradiance, superfluorescence, and the plasmonic Purcell effect, it reveals physical limits of ultrafast emission and their potential ...
