Controlling bias and inflation in epigenome- and transcriptome-wide association studies using the empirical null distribution

open access: yesGenome Biology, 2016
We show that epigenome- and transcriptome-wide association studies (EWAS and TWAS) are prone to significant inflation and bias of test statistics, an unrecognized phenomenon introducing spurious findings if left unaddressed.

Wearable Haptic Feedback Interfaces for Augmenting Human Touch

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The wearable haptic feedback interfaces enhance user experience in gaming, social media, biomedical instrumentation, and robotics by generating tactile sensations. This review discusses and categorizes current haptic feedback interfaces into force, thermal, and electrotactile stimulation‐based haptic feedback interfaces, elucidating their current ...

The dynamics of UK and US inflation expectations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper investigates the relationship between short term and long term inflation expectations in the US and the UK with a focus on inflation pass through (i.e. how changes in short term expectations affect long term expectations).

Inflation and Trading

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal
We study how investors respond to inflation combining a customized survey experiment with trading data at a time of historically high inflation. Investors' beliefs about the stock return-inflation relation are very heterogeneous in the cross section and on average too optimistic.

Machine Learning‐Enabled Polymer Discovery for Enhanced Pulmonary siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study provides an efficient approach to train a machine learning model by merging heterogeneous literature data to predict suitable polymers for siRNA delivery. Without the need for extensive laboratory synthesis, the machine learning enabled a virtual screening and successfully predicted a polymer that is validated for effective gene silencing in

Dynamics of Inflation and Inflation Uncertainty Using ARFIMA- GARCH Model [PDF]

open access: yesFaslnāmah-i Pizhūhish/Nāmah-i Iqtisādī, 2010
In this paper, we study inflation dynamics and then examine the relation of inflation and inflation uncertainty. At first, for filtering of predictable term of inflation series, we used time series model.

An international comparison of inflation credibility surveys

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences, 2013
This paper analyses the methodology used in assessing inflation credibility (i.e. perceptions of the accuracy of historical inflation rates) in countries targeting inflation, and compares the approaches used in New Zealand, South Africa and Sweden.

Scalable Perovskite Quantum Dot Glass Nanocomposites for High‐Efficiency Luminescent Solar Concentrators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study evaluates the scalability of PQD GNC‐based LSCs for BIPV applications. Experimental data and Monte Carlo simulations predict performance up to 1 m2, achieving a peak power conversion efficiency of 3.17%. The results confirm the viability of these LSCs for energy‐efficient building applications.

Exploring Inflation Dynamics with the Phillips Curve in Türkiye: Evidence from the Markov Regime Switching Model

open access: yesCumhuriyet Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Dergisi
Unlike in many advanced and emerging market economies, inflation was already a problem for the Turkish economy before the COVID-19 pandemic. During the 1990s, Türkiye experienced severe inflation, which reached three digits in some months.
