Bioinspired Soft‐Skeleton Robotics With Cooperative Shape Transformation and Stiffness Adaptation
A bioinspired soft‐skeleton robot that integrates variable‐stiffness chain skeletons into a soft textile skin is developed. The chain skeletons are highly flexible initially but can stiffen upon pneumatic actuation, enabling large deformation and enhanced load‐bearing capacity.

A 5D non compact and non Ricci flat Kaluza-Klein Cosmology
A model universe is proposed in the framework of 5-dimensional noncompact Kaluza-Klein cosmology which is not Ricci flat. The 4D part as the Robertson-Walker metric is coupled to conventional perfect fluid, and its extra-dimensional part is coupled to a ...

Strategic Design of Soft Actuators in Translational Medical Robotics for Human‐Centered Healthcare
Soft robotics enables biocompatible, compliant medical devices, but clinical translation requires design‐driven engineering beyond materials. This perspective reviews implantable, surgical, and wearable systems by actuation mechanism, highlighting how optimized architectures and integration improve mechanical interfacing, adaptability, and durability ...

Lung recruitment mechanics: coalescing tissue strains with organ expansion
Background Recruitment maneuvers are used to prevent atelectasis, or partial lung collapse, and to help prevent ventilator induced lung injury. Recruitment techniques remain a topic of debate due to the possibility for damage as they necessitate higher ...

The Eastward Enlargement of the European Monetary Union [PDF]
The enlargement of the European monetary union to include new EU Member States (NMs) will not lead to higher expected inflation in the enlarged euro area, but only to some redistribution of inflation at the country level, if the policy framework of the ...

FiN‐Kiri: Fabric‐Based Inflatable Kirigami Actuator for Multimodal Soft Robots
This study introduces a type of inflatable fabric‐based kirigami actuator capable of performing bending motion. The actuator is utilized as soft grippers, a crawling robot and a swimming robot. The crawling robot demonstrated extraordinary motion capabilities, such as moving forward, turning and navigating a narrow tunnel.

Flattening of the Phillips Curve and the Role of Oil Price: An Unobserved Components Model for the USA and Australia [PDF]
We use the unobserved components model of Harvey (1989 and 2011) to estimate the Phillips curve (PC) for the USA and Australia, by augmenting it with oil prices. We found that the level coefficient of inflation and the coefficient of demand pressure have
