Vacuum–Laser Fabrication of Programmable Soft Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rapid and accessible fabrication strategy for inflatable soft actuators is presented, combining vacuum sealing with laser cutting of low‐cost thermoplastic pouches. The method enables precise sealing, fast fabrication, and programmable multi‐cell geometries.

Large‐Scale Genomics Reveals Three‐Source Ancestry and Layered Adaptation to High Altitude in Tibetan Chickens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...

Protocol for a randomized crossover study of thigh cuff inflation in experimental hemorrhage: Assessing its potential as a model for zone 3 REBOA.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) is a method to provide temporary control of noncompressible torso hemorrhage in trauma patients. Previous research on REBOA has mainly focused on animals and patients.

Money, inflation, and deficit in Egypt [PDF]

open access: yes
Egypt has been able to escape high inflation by depleting its stocks of creditworthiness, money illusion, and enforceable foreign-exchange controls. These nonrecoverable assets are quickly becoming extinct and the economy is on an unsustainable path. The

Mechanically Robust Biodegradable Stents With Theragenerative Vascular Responses via Combined 3D Printing and Janus Nanoengineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a theragenerative 3D‐printed biodegradable stent with Janus nanoarchitecture for spatially controlled vascular healing. A luminal tantalum ion–implanted surface accelerates endothelialization and hemocompatibility, while an abluminal sirolimus/poly‐L‐lactic acid–tantalum layer provides sustained drug release and suppresses smooth ...

Pellet Printing for Soft Robotic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fused Granulate Fabrication (FGF) is established here as a reliable method for fabricating soft, airtight robotic devices. Through coordinated optimization of hardware, material selection, and process parameters, this approach enables high‐speed printing of thermoplastic elastomers with silicone‐like softness and modulus.
