Is lower tourniquet pressure during total knee arthroplasty effective? A prospective randomized controlled trial

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2019
Background Higher tourniquet pressures may be associated with an increased risk of complications. We aimed to determine (1) whether a lower tourniquet pressure [systolic blood pressure (SBP) + 120 mmHg] is as effective as conventional tourniquet pressure

A Data Driven Review of In Vitro Electrical and Mechanical Stimulation for Post‐Acute Phase Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how in vitro electrical and mechanical stimulation modulates wound healing in fibroblasts and keratinocytes. Analyzing over 560 experimental data points, we relate stimulation parameters to proliferation and migration outcomes, evaluate platform designs, and highlight the need for multi‐parameter optimization to advance targeted ...

Effects of tractor bias-ply tyre inflation pressure on stress distribution in silty loam soil

open access: yesSoil and Water Research, 2016
The aim of this paper was to quantify vertical stress distribution in silty loam soil by applying three combinations of tyre inflation pressures of front and rear wheels of a four-wheel drive tractor weighing 3560 kg.

LEAD: Literature Enhanced Ab Initio Discovery of Nitride Dusting Layers for Enhanced Tunnel Magnetoresistance and Lower Resistance Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Static tire properties analysis and static parameters derivation to characterising tire model using experimental and numerical solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Tire-ground interaction plays substantial role in determining vehicle kinetics and kinematics yet a clear understanding of such an interaction outputs is complex process.

Shear and Vorticity in Inflationary Brans-Dicke Cosmology with Lambda-Term [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We find a solution for exponential inflation in Brans-Dicke cosmology endowed with a cosmological term, which includes time-varying shear and vorticity.

Pressure groups and inflation: A cyclical model

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Political Economy, 1996
ABSTRACT This text presents arguments according to which the pressures of organized groups - but which act in an uncoordinated way - on government decisions related to fiscal issues, cause an increase in inflation, at the same time that they favour the disorganization of the economy. This last effect imposes limits on the behavior of these groups.

Elastomeric Micro‐Balloons for Remote Control of Cerebral Blood Flow and Real‐Time In vivo Imaging of Rodent Brain Response to Hypoperfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports the fabrication of MRI‐compatible elastomeric micro‐balloons via a multi‐step bubble casting process, where the monolithic elastomeric wall is selectively stiffened for reversible and controlled inflation and elasticity, depending on the target vessels for graded occlusion of cerebral arteries.
