Understanding the food component of inflation [PDF]
This article presents evidence based on a panel of 35 countries over the past 30 years that the Phillips curve relation holds for food inflation. That is, broader economic overheating does push up the food component of the CPI in a systematic way. Further, general inflation expectations from professional forecasters clearly impact food price inflation.

Optimal Inflation Target: Insights from an Agent-Based Model [PDF]
Which level of inflation should Central Banks be targeting? We investigate this issue in the context of a simplified Agent Based Model of the economy. Depending on the value of the parameters that describe the behaviour of agents (in particular inflation anticipations), we find a rich variety of behaviour at the macro-level. Without any active monetary

This study presents a custom‐made soft pneumatic device (SPD) that mimics complex mechanical forces and fluid flow to enhance in vitro cell differentiation. It shows that low mechanotransduction promotes MSC differentiation into osteoprogenitor cells, while high mechanotransduction causes structural disruptions and cell detachment, providing new ...

Analysis of Macroeconomic Variables Affecting Inflation and Exchange Rates
This study aims to examine the movement of macroeconomic variables, especially inflation and exchange rates. Inflation affects the exchange rate through the Law of One Price and Purchasing Power Parity, while the exchange rate affects inflation through ...

Bitcoin Does Not Hedge Inflation [PDF]
This paper examines the response of major cryptocurrencies to macroeconomic news announcements (MNA). While other cryptocurrencies exhibit no reaction to major MNA, Bitcoin responds negatively to inflation surprise. Price of Bitcoin decreases by 24 bps in response to a 1 standard deviation inflationary surprise.

NeoCast is a next‐generation, solvent‐free, non‐adhesive liquid embolic designed for indications where deep occlusion is desired (e.g., tumors and chronic subdural hematoma). This novel agent offers ideal embolic properties: injectability, controllability, excellent visibility, and biocompatibility.

Non‐Surgical, In‐Stent Membrane Bioelectronics for Long‐Term Intracranial Pressure Monitoring
This image shows a sequence of long‐term intracranial pressure monitoring using non‐surgical, in‐stent membrane bioelectronics. Abstract Traditional intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring methods, using intraventricular catheters, face significant limitations, including high invasiveness, discrete data, calibration complexities, and drift issues, which

Statistical Anisotropy from Anisotropic Inflation [PDF]
We review an inflationary scenario with the anisotropic expansion rate. An anisotropic inflationary universe can be realized by a vector field coupled with an inflaton, which can be regarded as a counter example to the cosmic no-hair conjecture. We show generality of anisotropic inflation and derive a universal property.

Pushing Radiative Cooling Technology to Real Applications
Radiative cooling controls surface optical properties for solar and thermal radiation, offering solutions for global warming and energy savings. Despite significant advances, key challenges remain: optimizing optical efficiency, maintaining aesthetics, preventing overcooling, enhancing durability, and enabling scalable production.

A Bio‐Inspired Perspective on Materials Sustainability
This perspective discusses natural materials as inspiration for sustainable engineering designs and the processing of materials. First, circularity, longevity, parsimony, and activity are presented as essential material paradigms. The perspective then uses many examples of natural and technical materials to introduce principles such as oligo ...
